Women and their Quilts

Women and their Quilts: A Washington Centennial Tribute by Nancyann Twelker
☆☆☆☆☆/5

THE GREAT READING BINGE OF 2017

Genre: Non Fiction

This seems to be my year for Non Fiction. I like to quilt and found this at the library.

Dating back to the early 1800s, this is a book that not only shows the beautiful quilts, but the women who made them and it’s generally a history book on Washington quilting. I found it very interesting and I enjoyed looking at the quilts. All of which are hand pieced and hand quilted. The detail that went into these is incredible and the different types of fabric available at the time they were sewn. It also described different techniques and the immense amount of work they put into their quilts.

I took a couple pics of my favorites. 🙂

Miniature Book Binding

This was another free event provided by my library! Super fun and FREE.

The adult services Librarian walked us through the steps of making our very own miniature books. They provided all of the supplies for us and even walked around and showed us how to do certain steps. Many different prints were available so no two books were the same!

Many thanks to Kitsap Regional Library for providing such an awesome and instructional event!
